VN Demo and General Update
Hey everyone,
Firstly, sorry for the radio silence in terms of updates and new stuff for however long it's been now, but I wanted to share something with you guys today. Some of you real ones might remember a VERY long time ago in an old Gamejolt post (back when this game was on there) I mentioned that I was going to be making a second VN based on my interpretation of the setting of FNIA 3. Much like the game FNIA 3 itself, the VN I intended to make for it has been sat on my hard drive unfinished for a very long time now. This is for a multitude of reasons, mostly a lack of motivation caused by burnout, some bad feelings/experiences regarding the FNIA space and some of the other developers in it and other life commitments getting in the way of work.
That being said, despite the current state of little work on my part, I did at one time work almost daily on the VN for very long periods, and in it's unfinished state it still sits at roughly 5x the size of expanded in terms of lines in the script. The quality of writing in general is signficantly better (imo) and there are a lot of dialogue choices available (which was one of the key criticisms people had about Expanded). Of course, as the VN isn't finished, there are things that I'm not entirely happy with about it, but I figure at this point that getting something out there to you all is better than it never seeing release at all.
I know the FNIA space in general isn't really what it used to be considering the Mairusu situation and the long drought of real content. Safe to say the days of Turner J Frost visual novels on Cloudnovel and the big boom of FNIA content are long over. But regardless, putting my current work (regardless of it being fully completed or not) out there for any of you who might still be waiting seems like the right thing to do.
Clearly, considering it will have been roughly 4 years since I dropped FNIA: Expanded back in the summer of 2020 and I still haven't released anything on this project until now, I'm not going to be putting any more content out after this VN and any more work I end up doing on it. I'm a uni student now and I no longer really have the time or interest in the space required to do so. I'd personally suggest turning to the people at Nightfox studios who work on A Fortnight at Frenni Fazclaire's and my friend Yuuto if you want more FNIA VN's that are still actively being worked on by their respective developers.
As for the demo itself? I'll be pushing that out for you when I can. You shouldn't have to wait too much longer as I'll just need to polish up the UI a little before finally showing you all. Until then, thanks for your patience.
(PS: To anyone who used to be in the discord server a long time ago, everyone being removed from it was just because I didn't really want to run it anymore due to some particularly bad feelings I'd gotten about the FNIA community at that time from interacting with some other developers. It was in no way intended to be anything against the people in that server in general as you were all quite supportive of me, and I hope you are all doing well.)

I haven't been on Itch.Io in a hot minute, but it's all goo to see you fine Jester. It's me, Milk, if you remember from the discord server. It's glad to see you well, and it's understandable just to stop. I did get confused when the server randomly disappeared, but hey it's full circle. I'm still alive and kicking, hope we can talk soon.
I fully understand my friend. Life likes to be a hinderince for us, but it shouldn't stop us from creating and doing what we love. I'll gladly support you as a dev and as a friend whenever I can, hoping that makes you feel better over time. The FNIA Community may now be as active as it used to be in it's glory days, but it still doesn't stop me from wanting to change that (at least by doing what I love, named FNIA). I still hope we continue to stay on each others side, my friend!
